News

December 22nd, 2009
As of this month “The Modbo Collective” has officially kicked off. I”m very happy to be a part of this group. The Collective is an inner-circle of eight of the most talented, up-and-coming artists in Colorado Springs.  Comprised of myself, Lindsay Hand, Brett Andrus, Douglas Rouse, Lorenzo White, Chris Weed, Troy Derose, and Shannon Dunn, we opened our premiere goup show on Friday, March 12th at the Modbo gallery.

The function of The Modbo Collective is to produce a body of work that continuously challenges and raises the standard for art in our community.  Meeting two to three times a month for discussion and critique, the Collective strives to create art within the historical context of an artistic community, rather than the current paradigm of each man for himself. The art itself spotlights narrative figurative painting with an emphasis on emotion and the ability to create a connection between the pieces and the everyday viewer.  The Collective will be exclusively represented by The Modbo with continued second Friday openings.
I will be posting a link to the gallery short. For those of you in the Springs, the Modbo is located in the Alleyway Arts District, at 17C e. Bijou, (next door to Rubbish and across the alley from the 15C Club).
Also, be sure to check out the Upcoming Shows posts for things on the horizon.
